Ford trying to cut costs of adding additional buttons.

VW design

They removed two and added one.

VW did it first. And, yes, it sucks.
-
Actually Vauxhall did… with Vectra C

@@Minto107 I had no idea. I stand corrected, thanks.
Also, what’s wrong with the Germans that they come up with such ideas? -
Can’t recall the last time I opened my rear windows. Not sure if I ever have.

This is a VW id4 based ford. Basically a rebadge. That’s why

@@youxunliu5904 oh wow, I’m learning all kinds of things today! VW and Ford are “under the same banner”?

Yeah why carwow 🤦♂️

VW did this. Ford just use their platform

What platform is that then?

VW parts bin. It looks identical
-
It is, it’s the ford Explorer which is just a ford body on top of a VW ID4

I also thought it was a bad solution, until I got used to this solution in my id3. After some time I think it is a great solution, because in my previous cars, whenever I wanted to open the front window, I would open the back window first. Now I don’t have this problem, and I will add that the driver most often opens the front windows! 👍👍👍
-
Only you have this problem 😅 you can feel with your fingers which button it is …
-
@@cachememory VW fixt my problem! I like it! 😆

To be fair, the amount of times I put the back windows down when I want the front. I think it would work for me.
-
I have no idea if I have opened my current cars rear windows
-
The only times I opened them are when I accidentally pressed the rear window button instead of the front window one.
-
You must a mug then mate
-
I have a similar issue. I feel like my car’s window buttons are a bit too far forward. And my natural position grabs the rear.
-
@@triplenppl either this or lock/unlock button

clearly all those who say it sucks have never driven a Ford. My 2nd Mondeo and I still put down the rear windows because the button fir the front is unreacheabke without extra effort
-
Now hold rear down for 3 seconds and control all the window at the same time with one switch! BOOM!!
-
Volvo doesn’t have physical locks. All digital. Had a busted door because of rain 😂. Couldn’t even unlock it
-
That ford is based on a vw so that’s why
-
The car is a VW, so Ford has to do it like VW
-
Because this “Ford” is a rebadged ID4 of the MEB platform, so shares many many common parts, including clearly in this video:
– The Window Controls
– The Mirror Controls
– The Steering Wheel
– The Drivers Display
– The control Stalks
– The Door Handles
– the Motors
– The Batteryand likely 90%+ of the Vehicle is VW.
-
Well, because that’s what they got out of the VW parts bin…
-
One button less 🤦♂️ That’s what happens when accountants design cars not professionals.
-
This car is a VW ID with a face lift.
-
All that money Ford will save! But making your life less practical!
-
It’s one button… I don’t understand the issue. Same way people complained about having media and climate controls on the same buttons in Hyundai or Kia’s recent cars…
-
It’s A bot don’t comment

-
Absolutely right, this is one thing Ford shouldn’t have got from vw from the Id range , there is absolutely no legitimate reason for this since Ford could source from the pony Mach-e
-
Somehow I just can’t imagine the r&d they spent on this is less than what they would spend on two more buttons
