It has to be the Alpine for me.

Fantastic. You two are great. I think I’d go for the Alpine too.

About time Ladies ❤️more hot hatches please, Side by side the Corsa looks so much lower and I think more genuinely fits a boy racer image as understated, perhaps put a massive fake exhaust on the back 🤪I like the Alpine and I did test drive one but has no option other than dead cow seats so that’s a no for me .

Even with lots more power for me the Alpine A290 wins on design alone, they just nailed it, and I definitely think it A290 is more go-karty.
Can’t wait to see A290 vs 208 GTi vs VW Polo GTI, and hopefully soon joining them Ioniq 3N 😉👌💪💪⚡⚡

Agreed. They should have put the Alpine up against the Alfa Romeo Junior Elettrica.

The 208 GTi e is basically the Corsa dressed differently so I might be the better choice

@darrengarvie8832 I hate the current design of Peugeot interiors so they are a no go for me.

Run the old Corsa GSi v 5 GT Turbo verdict on the new Corsa GSE v Alpine A290, and it barely needs changing: the Vauxhall is for the lad who wants to reach a derelict Little Chef quickly, with a tape from the loft jammed under the passenger seat; the Alpine is for the man who wants to arrive sideways in a car-boot shell suit, his dignity left somewhere in the last hedge.

Really great effort by Vauxhall and on a track I dare say it will be a lot of fun etc, however the Alpine definitely nails the brief here.

I used the word chuckability when i was talking to my parents about our Mini’s recently… but I preferred the Mini Cooper E over the Alpine A290, but the Alpine’s 5 door configuration definitely make it more useable.

What year Mini Cooper E? “Chuckability” is exactly the word I use to describe what I miss from having a warm hatch vs. my much more powerful but boring EV.

@TheJoeT81 It’s Vauxhall, a western brand, they are tolerant. It would have been different with a Chinese one.

Petrol hotties in the day were never economical

Surprise EV hotties today are………..not efficient.

So yes, embrace EVs for what they are, not what they are useless at.

as someone who had a previous gen corsa electric, im not touching them until its a brand new platform, the STLA med or small or whatever, just not the current e-CMP platform, i know they said theyve fixed the cahrgers and the 12v issues but i still see far too many in the forums about them conking out on the motorway because the 12v dipped too low and triggered the crash aler sensors, or the charger just shat the bed
