      touchscreens cause accidents, like phones, for the exact same reason! I personally hate it when the climate controls, something so fundamental, is behind 3 menu clicks…

      Not hating touchscreen,
      But Android auto, Applecar play, music control are enough.
      Other imp stuffs should be as a physical button.

    Imagine how much weight you could save if all these bells and whistles were optional extras

      Not much tbh. The hardware parts probably weigh less than a kilo combined 😅

      @gameonsilver i wasn’t only talking about the camera and touchscreen, i said all the bells and whistles

      @falcongamer58 still 5 kilos at the most. weight is not the problem with these things.

    4. @falcongamer58 Avatar
      @falcongamer58

      @t0zu the wiring needed for this stuff is like a full man’s weight

      @falcongamer58 Funnily enough the Cybertruck massively improved on that by using a 48 V system and ethernet cables, significantly reducing the weight of wire needed throughout the car.

      And then they went and ruined it all by making it out of huge bits of steel.

    This car seems very possessive about touching any other thing even it’s own screen 😂

    This is on purpose the same way “computer operators” on 1-800 numbers are meant to discourage you from reaching an actual person.

    Car makers be like: “ok so no physical controls to feel around, just a touchscreen you need to look at, to be able to do stuff. But if you look at it we’ll turn on an alarm”… okay cool… I’ll just buzz off then

      It’s actually regulations preventing auto makers from allowing the customer from quick disabling or permanently disabling (over a key-cycle) some of these nanny features.

    I hate everything on a touch screen set up. No more dials or button for the basic control is a no go for me.

    Cars have advanced since the 2000s with the sweet spot between 2010 and 2020. Most new cars are ruined by tech. I will never buy a car where you have to go through menus to adjust seats and the heating, on a bumpy road it’s near impossible and dangerous to try and adjust anything.

    The only driver aids I need would be a manual transmission, handbrake, and a tuned suspension.
