It sounds poor by today’s standards, BUT let’s remember its performance. And I reflect upon the average MPG of my K-series powered Rover 214 from the mid-90s, which was mid-20s. That car’s performance was orders of magnitude lower and so was its weight… So mid-20s short journey numbers doesn’t seem so bad in a performance Macan

There was something wrong with your 214, as the 1800cc Freelander 1 will average 28 MPG round town, and that’s 30% heaver than a R214.

It’s actually good fuel economy, you’re just not paying attention to physics. Consider what the engine is turning and how much turning all that weight needs to move it. What you’re getting is better than what I would’ve expected.

Had the 3ltr gts 2018, great handling, best in its class. Porsche ‘bods’ just know how too set up a chassis, suspension ect. not the quickest, but a ‘ballet dancer’ in motion. Test drove competitors at the time, felt like ‘Vicar of Dibbly ‘ dance scene of Swan lake.
Sounds like the fuel efficiency didn’t improve with the 2.9!
Keep on rocking in a Free World, Pete!
Keep up the good works. -
Smiles per gallon = priceless

Just enjoy it while fuel is cheap 👌

I couldn’t bring myself to own one of these anymore . Not to harp on about electric but my EV is just as fast and basically free to drive. Just train yourself to enjoy silence over sound and your wallet will thank you for it

Porsche and good fuel consumption shouldn’t be in the same sentence 😂😂

I can concur, my 2025 S gets the same, but it doesn’t bother me, I only drive it about 4,000km/2500mi per year
