Mat's got his hands on the all-new Porsche Cayenne Turbo Electric, and he's about to see if the most powerful Porsche ever is truly deserving of so much power.

For starters, let's take a look at the style …

From the front, it's fair to state that the exterior design is an improvement over the old petrol-powered Cayenne! It has a genuine existence from the front, with aggressive air scoops on either side, while the Turbo edition has additional vents and air intakes across the bumper. Along the side, there are larger surrounds on the wheel arches, and the Turbo edition we're evaluating has a grey satin result on the roof bars and window surrounds. There are likewise blackened side skirts, which, in this case, have "Turbo" written on them. Along the back there's an aggressive diffuser, and the Porsche badge is embossed into the full-length light bar.

On the inside, this brand-new Cayenne has actually moved far from standard Porsche interior decoration of old, with the incorporation of more screens. There are dual screens in the centre console, a passenger screen, and a big, curved digital dial screen. The dial display features lots of customisable alternatives, and a great deal of the functionality for the automobile is managed through the infotainment screen. Fortunately, however, there are physical buttons for the climate control. The seats are firm and figure-hugging, and there are soft-touch materials throughout the majority of the cabin – although you don't need to browse too tough to discover some scratchy plastics!

The Cayenne Turbo Electric is powered by 2 electric motors, and these integrate to produce an unbelievable 1,156 hp and 1,500 Nm! It may be heavy, tipping the scales at 2,645 kg, however it still launches like a rocket ship! It's equipped with a 113kWh battery pack, and it has actually a claimed variety of 350 – 387 miles.

The Cayenne Electric variety begins with ₤ 83,265 (since August 2026), rising all the way as much as ₤ 130,965 for the Turbo. But naturally, it doesn't stop there – the vehicle we're evaluating, with options, expenses over ₤ 172,000! So is it worth it? And would you pick an electrical Cayenne over an older, petrol-powered alternative? Let us know in the comments!

      Tell me truthfully, do you know how to fit an alternator? Change an oil and/or water pump?

      @Ajayangpthey are sacrificing what exactly?

    5. @FINNdeischgut Avatar
      @FINNdeischgut

      @Ajayangp No, they’re simply doing what they think will generate the most profit globally. And worldwide, electric cars and SUVs are in much higher demand than Porsche sports cars. You’re pretty naive if you think major capitalist companys have any real values or traditions. The moment an opportunity to make more profit arises, they’ll seize it. Of course, that doesn’t always work out, since even capitalists can make mistakes.
      Another reason for the Cayenne EV is, naturally, the EU’s fleet emission targets. If someone wants a GT3 RS, they have to buy a Cayenne EV along with it to cut average emissions in half. That’s obviously completely absurd, and definitely not what the architects of the fleet targets intended, but it does boost European car sales figures a bit, so they aren’t doing anything to stop it.

      With every generation of car they slowly increase the overall diameter of the tyres. So the sidewalls aren’t really getting thinner despite wheels getting larger.
