Its prolly just some software u could remove it

@@Manchler I can guarantee that would void the warranty.

As soon as you remap them it takes the soft limiter off, i done it on mine, but yes as the other guy says, voids the warranty.

@@Grover91yeah but its only a 2 year warranty with Audi, so its not likely anything serious/expensive will go wrong with it in 2 years, and Audi most likely wouldn’t notice the limiter had been removed when fixing something under warranty anyway

@@Boris-dq3ub its 3 year manufacturer warranty with audi. And yes they will as soon as you remap/tune a car audi’s diagnostics machine is plugged in, and before the mechanic does any repairs. It scans the cars system. And if its mapped/tuned it flags up a fault code called a TD1, (which includes the date it was mapped/tuned) then the audi dealership phones the customer and asks the customer if they still want to go ahead with the repair, which wont be covered by warranty because of the tuning, i know this worked on plenty. Same with most modern cars now. They fling up a TD1 code. Only way avoiding this is buying a second ecu and tune that. Then putting your original back in if you ever need warranty work done. But if it flags up on that car, its flagged for life.

Finally a car that isn’t worthy of being prodded by Mat’s stick of truth!

Might be to warm the cats quicker

Cats are in front of the valve so they warm up regardless of the valves…

@@robothood13but trapping some heated gas in the system will still help heat the cats

Also they didn’t fully “open” in the exact position like they were before the cold start. They sort of “half-opened”. Smh

They need to stop adding soft limiters ffs fk the noise regulations and neighbours deal with the noise, have a beast v8 screaming in your ear

I think noise regulations shouldn’t apply to engines with more than 4 cylinders… daydreaming, aren’t I?

It’s the engine management system trying to hold a small amount of warm gases in the system to help it achieve a measurable amount of O2 in the cats.

Stays open when off to avoid moisture building up. Cold start, colder gas flow so valve shut.

If you don’t understand it, it doesn’t mean it’s strange. EGR, backpressure, calibration, startup diagnostics. I pity the goons who have enough money to spend on things they have no clue how they work.
