    Owning an EV isn’t as magical as marketing suggests, especially with California’s high charging rates and limited battery charge percentages. Following recommendations for optimal battery health, only 60% of the range is actually usable.

    1. @renessance Avatar
      @renessance

      Nonsense, charging until 80% is suggested for daily driving, going from 80 to 10 is often going to give you 250 miles of “daily driving” range. When making a roadtrip, it’s fine to charge until 100% and empty the battery until 5%, because you won’t keep it at that state very long.

      And high charge rates are a bummer. If you can charge at home, perhaps using solar, it’s even cheaper than petrol and full every morning.

    2. @jbzzey Avatar

    I don’t like how the chargers and parking spaces are positioned. People have to t-bone into a charging space. It would be better if they arranged them parallel parking style. And it would it easier to reach some vehicles charging ports.
