The paint is charged, and they send current through and it reacts and changes colour according to the voltage it recognizes

It’s literally just e-ink displays like an ereader /amazon kindle. It’s just a color one like you can find in some e-ink smartphones (no idea why that’s a thing)

@@gavcom4060 I get that this paintjob would cause several issues in case of damage. But that’s not the point! It’s a very cool feature, and isn’t that what paintjobs are mostly for: aesthetics? Honestly, people are being too “glass half empty” to new stuff like this.

5 series is the best looking BMW at this point. Everything else has those MASSIVE grills and they’re terrible. 5 series is the only decent looking one in their entire lineup.
