MID-WEEK 180 – Germany get EU to backtrack on ‘All EV Post 2035’ !

You have one tyre brand name to purchase for the rest of your life … which would it be?

It appears like Germany have actually encouraged the EU to backtrack on their All post 2035. It is most likely that news legislation will be passed allowed ICE automobiles to be made post 2035 as long as they operate on e-Fuels.

F1 is off down-under this weekend with the Australian Grand Prix. Tune in at 6pm this Friday for the expose of my new Hendy Group long termer.

After trying numerous different brands over 4 decades, Michelin have proved the best buy for me in terms of all-year grip and longevity.

Even Pete. Great to hear about the ICE options, just hope they are possible by 2035. EV isn’t the only option in my opinion, as this will be too restrictive in so many ways that have already been mentioned by your good self amongst others. 👍

Definitely Michelin for me when it comes to tyres. Watched a great video on Seen through glass on synthetic fuels and they do sound like a great option. Extract the CO2 from the air to make the fuel and then it goes back when burnt, so keeping it all neutral. I still don’t think that ICE cars will ever be banned. I do like EVs but both ICE and EV have their strengths and are both good in different ways.

Looking forward to your synthetic fuels video too.

Hi Peds !!!! where are you and what are you doing !!!! Had really good news today via e-mail from the National Lottery (the first e-mail from them in years ) They informed me today that I had won a prize. I am currently watching your MID-Week 180 and considering opening the e-mail but before I do I was wondering which car I may purchase from your collection and definitely offer you more than the market value. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have now read the email and was wondering if you had any cars available for £ 30.

Glad you had a great skiing trip fella! If you’d driven from home to the snow in europe what would you take? And who would you love to ride shotgun? I’m assuming mrs ped is already a given! So let’s say it’s you too and friends who’d make the journey as much fun as the skiing.

I think I’d take the better half, my friends Chris and Elaine, and I’d get my mitts on an alpine wagon.

Tyres, well I have been running Continentals for over 15 years and never had any complaints. On the German fuel subject of ICE and synthetic fuel, perfect, a country with the correct way forward. Keeps many cars going and faster petrol station visits with no long charge up waits. Perfect. After all, Formula one are supposed to be going 100% synthetic fuel by 2026 I believe, so yip that is the answer. Have been saying that EV is not the way forward for ages. Great video Pete.

Michelin PS4s on both my cars. Loved them so much on my M4 I put them on my Cooper S six months after buying and they transformed it.

Hi Pete – Michelin are the best tyres. Have fitted them to many cars and always improve the handling, reduce wear and soften the ride! Best Clive

Hi Pete – Iam OK with E-fuels but only for existing vehicles. Clearly the Germans want to try and keep building ICE’s for as long as possible. They should be focussing all efforts on building EVs or alternatives now. Tesla is already outselling BMW in the US. I can see some manufacturers going out of business even with an extension! Best Clive

Have you seen Tesla sales and prices. VW are playing a big car in the EV market but nobody is biting, there needs to be a better alternative than lithium powered cars.

Michelin. My 992 has Pilot Sport 4S. I fitted type Pilot Sport 5 (not 5 S) to my wife’s T-Roc 5 months ago. They were excellent.

    Hi Ped
Tyre choice got to be Michelin, but have to admit my favourite for the Morgan’s we owned was Toyo, excellent which suited the car very well. The news from Germany and E fuels just goes to show the stupidity of the EU and our politicians in this headlong rush towards Net Zero.😬 If E fuels do gain ground will we be able to afford this alternative fuel ?🤔

Harry’s Garage did an e fuels video recently, for the second time. They work but expensive at present.
