GM has two US battery factories under construction now, one in Ohio that’s nearly complete (weeks/months from production), and another in Tennessee that’s just now being enclosed (Q1/Q2 2023 production). They previously announced two additional US battery factories, and GM has held the locations to themselves but has been busy doing studies and privately getting permits. So this was expected, but still news. They’ll probably announce the fourth battery factory location soon, as it was also planned for 2025 production.
