Untwist the cord before putting it all back? If you don’t know how to untwist it, hold the cord as far away from the handle as possible, let the handle dangle, it’ll untwist itself.
Our old cord stopped working and we assumed the twisting action is what damaged it eventually. This new cord ($300!) is already getting twisted some. Any advice on how to avoid this? We are really careful but it seems to be impossible to prevent.
What you need to do when you coil the wire back up, give it a twist as you place it on the hanger. We’ve had to deal heavy gauge wire, and you find it goes on easier with the slight twisting motion. The problem is most times, people just want to hang the wire up quickly, and it works best with a little effort, and doesn’t damage the wire.
Alternate the direction you wrap it and it won’t twist

Depends on the brand on how the cable is made – for our JuiceBox units, yes. They do that.
That’s crazy. We use ChargePoint EVSEs and the cables are thicker. They don’t really twist

Always wrap all cables over/under, and they will last forever!
Be Zen with the wire and it will do what you want…

How long have you had this charger??!!
That is ridiculous!
ClipperCreek – mine is nine years old and still working great to this day. – but that’s just my suggestion
That cable is …… thin. What’s the amperage on that circuit?
I find I have to un-kink the cable periodically.
